Eligibility You must:

  • Be physically present in Canada
  • Hold a valid employer-specific work permit, or have maintained status after applying for an extension
  • Experience abuse, or face a risk of abuse, connected to your employment

Abuse includes:

  • Physical or sexual abuse
  • Threats, intimidation, or isolation
  • Unpaid wages or financial exploitation
  • Unsafe work or employer-provided housing
  • Retaliation for reporting workplace violations
  • Recruitment fraud or illegal job fees

Supporting evidence might include your statement, messages, photographs, medical records, police reports, employment complaints, pay records, or letters from support organizations.
