Rural Community Immigration Pilot

The Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP) provides a permanent residence pathway for skilled workers who plan to work and settle in a participating rural community. After submitting an RCIP permanent residence application, eligible applicants might qualify for a two-year, LMIA-exempt work permit.

Main requirements:

  • A valid job offer from a designated employer
  • A recommendation from a participating community
  • An RCIP permanent residence application
  • Compliance with general work permit and admissibility requirements

This employer-specific permit authorizes work only for the employer named on the permit. An eligible spouse or common-law partner might qualify for an open work permit restricted to the same community.
